The Irish Adventure
By Valerie Lozano
It was a bright sunny afternoon in a peaceful neighborhood an adventure just awaits. “Oh, yeah”, exclaimed Lily, when she shoved her fist in the air.
“What is going on Lily, are you ok?” questioned Lily’s mom.
“Yes, mom I’m fine I was just”-
“Acting like a barbaric girl because you won on the Wii”, interrupted Lucas, Lily’s twin brother.
“Seriously did you have to burst my bubbly mood”, replied Lily.
“ It’s my job, hey mom where are you going?” asked Lucas.
“I’m going back to do the laundry”, said mother and then she left.
“Thud”. Lily and Lucas looked at each other in confusement, you can tell they were bewildered because one second their eyes were a calm baby blue then the they were dark green. “What was that?” asked Lily.
“I do not know, but it sounded like it came from the attic”, replied Lucas. The twins walked the caramel colored stairs and arrived at their destination the attic.
When they opened the door at first they saw nothing, but then they saw a little man about two feet tall, with a green silk suit and green hand made shoes. He had lime green eyes they were so light you could mistake them for cat eyes. Also, he had fiery orange hair and a beard. “Aw my lad, the pixie said I made her shoes too big, I found out her shoe size is one centimeter”, said the little man.
“Excuse me little man are you a Leprechaun?” questioned Lily. The little man was frightened and sneaky so he dashed to the window and tried to run out.
The little man’s attempt did not work because Lucas picked him up with his peachy hands. “ I know exactly what you are”, said Lucas.
“ Oh yah lassie, what do you think I am?” replied the little man in a nasty tone.
“You are a Leprechaun”, exclaimed Lucas.
“Wait a minute I thought Leprechauns wore leather aprons”, said Lily.
“Yes we used to, but now the head Leprechaun said to change our clothes”, said the Leprechaun.
While the Leprechaun was talking Lucas duck-taped him on the wall. “Lucas! What was that for?” said Lily.
“Lily don’t you remember, Leprechaun are vicious creatures. So, if you want their pot of gold you have to be as vicious as them, to get what you want”, explained Lucas.
“Oh right”, said Lily. Lily starting pulling on the little man’s beard and said, “Tell us where the pot of gold is!”
“All right, all right”-“Dinner time kids!” mom announced. Lily and Lucas both turned their heads in the direction their mom was calling from and then Lily explained, “Mom, we can’t there is a Leprechaun that is going to tell us where the pot of gold is”.
“It’s true mom”, added Lucas. But when the twins turned their heads back the Leprechaun was gone.
