In The Total Tradegy of a Girl Named Hamlet  I  have read two more chapters. As you get deeper in the story, Hamlet finds out Dezzie had made new friends they are Saber and Mauri. Unfortunately, Dezzie had made friends with last people Hamlet would ever talk to. During chapter five Hamlet finds out more about her project on Shakespeare. Then she goes to her algebra ,while she is in her class she explains how it is a plus to have a genius little sister to help her out in school, but also how it is kind of a downer too. After that,  Hamlet dropped off her sister at next stop, going home. Eventually, it was time for lunch instead of Hamlet getting able to sit with  her friends at a lunch table, she  made an innocent mistake and sat  in Saber and Mauri's table. During her transition to the cafeteria to her next class she spotted Ty, her best friend, with a look of hurt on his face. At the end of the day, she met with Ty, apologized about the lunch table incident. Then, their conversation changed to why would Saber and Mauri want to be friends with Dezzie.
As I read deeper in the story, I can tell another trait about Hamlet she is humble. On page 13 in the text it states ," Of course our desks were in the middle of the room." This passage in the text shows that Hamlet is not shy, but she prefers not to be the center of attention. Also, on page 32 it says," I am going to lunch now . . . " This except shows that Hamlet is telling her mom she has to go that means she wants to be left alone, independent ,and does not want anymore attention any more.

Being nice is always an option

Right now I am reading the book The Total Tradegy of a Girl Named Hamlet  by Erin Dionne. So far I have read through chapters one to three. In the book the main character, Hamlet Kennedy is facing the fact that Dezzie, a seven year old genius, is going to her school. During chapter one Hamlet is with her sister on the first day of eighth grade and she explains why Dezzie now goes to Howard Hoffer Junior High (HoHo). Also, she says how it is embarrassing how Dezzie is in the same grade as her. Then in chapter two Hamlet tells that her family has an obsession about the Shakespeare except her. Later on the in the chapter, Dezzie is acting like herself which is not a good thing because she keeps on embarrassing Hamlet. Then in chapter three Hamlet learns that in her English and social studies class she has to do a project on Shakespeare, once her parents find about this she will not be left alone because then they will want to be a part of this too.

The main character in the book Hamlet is nice because you can see it through her thoughts, dialogue, and actions. For instance, on page six it says, " Don't get me wrong , I love my sister. And we actually get along . . ." This excerpt shows that in her thoughts she thinks well about her sister Dezzie. The only problem is Hamlet does not want her sister in school because eighth grade is her year. Overall, Hamlet thinks positive things about her genius relative. Also, she is nice in her dialogue, in the text on page 10 it says, " Have you any suggestions as how I should approach my days here?(said Dezzie) . . . Try to fit in (said Hamlet)." In this passage in the text, Dezzie asked Hamlet a question instead, of her ignoring it like a normal sister would in this situation. She answered it with good advise to help her out. Last but not least, Hamlet is kind in her actions because on page 12 it says, "Dezzie curtsied . . . A wave of laughter crashed in my ears." When Dezzie curtsied the whole class laughed, but Hamlet did not. As you can see Hamlet is nice because of her thoughts, dialogue, and actions.
